The Solution
I asked Madelyn to bring along items that meant the most to her. And after chatting (in French) for a few minutes Madelyn’s personality started to show. This young woman is incredibly talented and interested in music, language and travel. Those elements along with bits of her family history and legacy needed to come through in these portraits.
I honestly could share every single frame from this photoshoot. It truly was one of those sessions where from the first moment magic happened. From the eye rolls she kept giving her mom to her insisting on playing her bass perfectly we had fun.
It really is so incredible getting to connect with and photograph people during some of the big transitional moments in their lives. I love learning their stories and getting to share in it even if only for a few hours.
