TX to NV | My Life

June 13, 2012

Moving to Texas 3 years ago was hard.  I had been married for barely a month and my husband and I were about to pick up and more our lives half way across the country.  It was hard but it was good.  Neither of us really knew anyone where we were moving to but we went anyway.  I could have never imagined how wonderful that move was going to be for our relationship, new friendships, our family and new opportunities.  Over the past 3 years I’ve meant some of the most amazing people and gained some truly incredible friends, friendships that I hope last a lifetime.

So when hubs finished his master’s (the original reason for our move and a painstaking process) and we started planning out move back to Nevada I was a little torn.  After three years I had more friends and connections in Texas than back home.  As much as I missed the mountains and my family deciding to move back to Nevada was very hard.  After months and months of indecision and changing our minds we decided to make our way back west.  Our drive took 3 days and 1.700 miles, which is a long haul with a 6 month old, two dogs and a U-Haul!  But we made it and we stopped to enjoy the landscape along the way too!

Finally, we are in Nevada and while I miss Texas and the wonderful people I know there I am glad to be so close to my family and am hopeful for what is to come!
